During the construction of our building addition, we installed sixteen solar hot water panels and a 25k gallon storage tank so we can collect and store hot water in the summer and we can use it in the winter to heat the addition. One of our research engineers has a house with a solar thermal system; at -40°F the panels were making 134°F water.
